It was a big surprise for Riley, when she was ordered to pose topless for the shoot. I think she should have been warned beforehand. Jo definitely pushed her too hard with all her accusations and trying to get inside Riley’s head. The only thing that accomplished is getting a rise out of Riley. I think she did the right thing by walking out of the shoot. If something doesn’t feel right, the best thing to do is walk away, no matter what the cost.
This episode was very special to me because of the scenes at Paramount Studios, and the shots of Melrose Ave. I took classes at Raleigh Studios on that same street, and toured Paramount with my class. It was a wonderful time for me, and I really learned a lot about the television industry. Jonah’s interview was very well portrayed in terms of writing and acting. It reminded me of one of my interviews, and how uneasy that situation can be. You want so badly to do well, but you don’t know if you’re going to be on the same page as the interviewer. The worst part is you have no control over what happens, it’s that unpredictable. What happened at Jonah’s interview is something that happens all the time. You have a great idea and vision, but the director wants to change it completely. The only thing you can do, especially for someone who is just starting out, is compromise.
For awhile now I’ve been wondering what David is up to, now I know. He steals jewelry from white collar criminals, who live in big mansions. I’m not sure about the logic behind this, or what David hopes to gain. I know he has issues with his dad, but how is this getting back at him? All I see is David hurting people who remind him of his father, and making enemies in the process. As for Lauren, I don’t know what’s worse: taking money for sex or money that is the result of stealing. I am glad she eventually refused his loan, now that she knows where it is coming from. I just wish she would not have to sell herself to go to med school.
I was disappointed that Jonah didn’t confront Riley about her kiss with Auggie. I think it would have made the scene stronger and more emotional. My gut is telling me that Riley does not want to marry Jonah, and she is doing it because it is comfortable. I think it was hypocritical of Riley to say there are not any secrets between her and Jonah, yet she doesn’t tell him about Auggie.
Violet keeps getting more and more crazy with each episode. It’s obvious she destroyed the eggs that Riley and Auggie bet on. Violet can’t stand Auggie bonding with anyone, and wrecking those eggs is a sign that she will hurt anyone who gets in her way. Violet seemed to like Riley, until she figured out how close she is with Auggie. Violet just wants Auggie all to herself.
