This episode was interesting because of the flashbacks that gave us some back story on the characters. and David met for the first time at the cemetery. I have to wonder if Sydney was already with David’s father, and if so how could David not have known? I loved the flashbacks with David drunk and blood all over him because of how blurry it looked. It fit with David’s state of mind, and was a good editing technique. It gave us a sense of how completely out of it he was. Maybe David really is the killer? He could have killed Sydney and blacked out from being drunk. I definitely got the sense that David wanted to hurt Sydney for using him to get to his father. What made it worse was David having real feelings for Sydney. I think if he did kill Sydney, it was because of how drunk he was. That’s no excuse, but I honestly think if David was sober, he wouldn’t have hurt Sydney. It proves how dangerous getting high can be, since emotions tend to run wild.
Ella offers money to Lauren to make the scandal about a client’s over dose go away. I thought Ella was going to use Lauren’s night job to get what she wants. Since Lauren doesn’t want her secret getting out, I honestly thought she would change the client’s medical records. I guess Ella and Lauren are full of surprises or they are better friends then I thought. I think Ella made the right choice by letting the story come out. It was the only way for the star to get help. I think if Ella had covered this up, it would have enabled the celebrity, and he probably would have overdosed again. Maybe the next time he wouldn’t have been so lucky.
I have a funny feeling about Jonah and Riley, especially after the fight they had at the wedding. Ever since Riley hesitated about accepting Jonah’s proposal, I’ve believed that she doesn’t want to marry him. I think she is too scared to admit it, which explains her attraction to Auggie. There should be no hesitation when accepting a marriage proposal, if there is the answer should be no. I liked how they videotaped a wedding together because it stirred the pot long enough for them to realize they have a problem. In a way the wedding set was symbolic for them. It gave Jonah and Riley a taste of what is ahead in their future. It was a bad move for Jonah to kiss Kendra, even though he only did it because Riley kissed Auggie. Now they are even, but they shouldn’t be kissing other people since they are engaged. I disagree with Riley telling Auggie they can’t hang out anymore. Pushing Auggie away won’t change how Riley feels about him. I think it will make things worse, because the temptation will always be there.
